Since purchasing Ohiwa Beach Family Holiday Park in 1990, our aim has been to preserve and enhance our unique beach and harbour environment while expanding our tourism market. Here at Ohiwa Family Holiday Park we strive to maintain our clean, natural environment. We provide onsite recycling bins and solar and water heating, most effective in the peak season when the sun's heat is at its greatest. Native trees planted throughout our Park provide shade and hillside protection while our Park buildings are designed to make the most of our sunny location. Here at Ohiwa Family Holiday Park we take an active role in protecting our beach and sand dunes and encourage our guests to help us preserve this natural environment. We respect the historic Maori significance of our land with its 17 known pa sites on the South Eastern boarder. We value Ohiwa Harbour as a seafood resource for local people, and Ohiwa Beach, home to the endangered dotterel in the summer time.
